Ipamorelin is an intriguing new discovery for muscle building that is attracting significant interest in the bodybuilding community. Similar to the GHRP-6 peptide (growth hormone releasing hexapeptide), it is a synthetic peptide known for its potent Growth Hormone releasing capabilities. These GH releasing properties are particularly appealing to athletes and bodybuilders, as they can greatly enhance muscle growth and accelerate fat loss.

Athletes typically administer Ipamorelin at a dosage of 200mcg - 300mcg two to three times daily, utilizing a small insulin needle for injection. They often begin with a lower dose, as potential side effects may include headaches or sensations resembling a head rush. Ipamorelin can be taken at any time, but it appears to be optimal to take it around 30-45 minutes prior to a workout, as it induces a pulse in Growth Hormone (GH), facilitating maximum muscle growth.

Research investigating the effects of Ipamorelin on bone growth, body weight, and GH release has yielded some intriguing findings.

In one study, different doses were given over a 15-day period to observe the participants' responses.

A clear and dose-dependent effect on body weight gain was noted; however, the treated group did not exhibit any significant change in total IGF-I levels nor produce serum markers indicative of bone development. For instance, the number of cells in the broad section of the tibia (shinbone) remained largely unchanged. This is positive, as it indicates muscle growth with a reduced risk of bone or cartilage deformities.

The pituitary's response to a high intravenous (i.v.) dose of Ipamorelin revealed that plasma GH levels were significantly reduced, while levels remained unchanged after a similar dose of GHRH. This finding is beneficial, suggesting that Ipamorelin may not inhibit the body’s natural GH production, further supporting its role as a selective GH releaser.
